Today didn't start off very well.
I had lack of sleep since Bryan needed to go to school early. It meant starting the day earlier. Rargh.
I slept in the cafe till assembly time.
Then I met Ritchell. She was introduced to the J2s as a girl serving God with all her heart, even with so many things taken away from her.
Ritchell was born premature, at 30 weeks. She weighed 1kg and was only 35cm. She had to be put in an incubator for about 2.5 months and that took away her sense of sight.
Even then, at 3, Ritchell started to sing and at 6 she started to write songs. By 8 she had cut an album and her second album was released at 11.
Ritchell sang to us today and as she did, I heard God speaking to me, telling me to grow. I felt such warmth and peace in me, I knew that the whole place was filled with God's presence.
Then when Ritchell opened her mouth to share a short message, tears started to pour from my eyes. This 12 year old, though visually impaired, had more faith than me. She didn't have friends in school because of her conditions but that didn't stop her from loving God, from serving God.
This small-framed girl, was a giant. She reminded me that God is GOD. She didn't say how big God was of how amazing He was. But her words to us showed us how much she believed Him, how much she relied on Him, how much she rested and took comfort in Him, how much she trusted in Him, how much she loved Him. If this little girl was able to do so, that speaks something about the God she loves.
She was thankful for her abilities but she said not to be proud of them, but to be proud of God, who gave them.
" But I don't care. I love God."
" I can't see you sitting there, but I can see angels."
