just another day

Went out today with angel, ivan goh and bryan. Bryan woke me up at 9 15! And we went supposed to leave the house around 9 30 so I rushed a bit, but luckily daddy sent us to toa payoh station so not so bad. Late for like half an hour haha..angel came at 10 45. 45 minutes late.. jac is really the late clan. Jie just didn’t come at all.. haha..

Reached orchard mrt, waited a while then we all walked to ORCHARD CINELEISURE!! Ivan goh!! Kept on insisting we met at orchard instead or summerset!! *kick slap punch*

Booked tickets to kung fu hustle at 11 20. then bought popcorn and all and went into the theatre.

The show is really crap. Waste of money. Could have spent it on another set of prints. Haha..and the theatre was not even 1/5 full..

After the movie. Took prints. I think I fell in love with the machine there.. haha..nah..kidding… then ivan goh wanted to take somemore so we went to heeren and took one more. After that, we walked back to orchard cineleisure to eat. Saw josia and michelle on the way. Josia is so dao!! Haha.. didn’t even say hi. But michelle did.. haha..

We ate at yoshinoya and bk. Haha.. like a bit of everything. Mmm.. haha..talked a bit, took pictures.. blah blah..

Then came home. Going out later again to see uncle chee ken ken’s baby.. yaysie!!


school is starting.. bleahx.. not looking forward to it. i hate my uniform. the belt is so super high.. well it must be.. cos i grew..like duh..i wish i had new uniforms.. then i would look forward to school..haha.

drama girl..

The drama was today!

Went to church at about 7. 30. got into my stage clothes, then did sound check, all the checks here and there. The only check they forgot was appearance check. I forgot my make up!! Haha. Only last minute did Elizabeth put it on for me. Haha. Thank you so much liz!! But what a place to choose to put on make up.. at the back, near the cafe. Everyone walking in by the back gate could see me!! Argh!! Haha..

The drama for 1st service was good!! Everything went quite well.. the audiences' reactions were also good. Laughed at the correct times and all..our costume change was also quite fast, given the space we had. (Barely enough to stand since the backstage was full of boxes.) the only wrong part was 1 of liz's line. Haha. She said "he whom we met in glory burst of divine" instead of "divine burst of glory" but it was ok.. the audience didn't catch it.. haha..

Between 1st service and 2nd, bryan and I went to give out more presents. I collected a few as well.

I got a lot of neat stuff this year. Well, compared to the stuff I got last year. Haha. The best 'earthy' present I got was from daddy! Thank you so much!! I love the phone!! Haha..but I m not giving presents next year. Haha. I discovered the true meaning of Christmas!! Haha..ok.. maybe some to really special people.. thank GOD for his message to me. the best present. the true meaning of christmas.

The 2nd service's drama was totally terrible. The mikes screeched, then they didn't really work, then all that went wrong did.. haha.. ok lah. Not so bad. The worst was the audience's reactions. I don't know how to even describe it.. man. I just love the 1st service. Haha.. maybe because most timmies go for 1st service. haha.

mmm.after 2nd service, we had to stay a while cos I left my phone backstage and bryan took a while to get it for me. Then bryan couldn't find his waistpouch. Haha. Only after service did he find it. Man.. waste time..

ivan teo came to our house and played with angel for a while before taking a taxi to ps.

Mummy left in the morning to Malaysia today and I miss her already.

Christmas!!

Christmas day today!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS!! Haha..yesterday..went to 3rd aunt's house.. sky was there.. he is so big already! Can crawl really well too! Haha..bryan and I were bored. So we went to nearby northpoint and watched the incredibles. It' s a really cute cartoon. I like jack jack. Haha.. so cute but fierce. Like chilli padi. Haha. I remember the child care centre's teachers calling me a chilli padi too! Haha.. why? I m so nice what..

We watched incredibles till almost 9. Then daddy fetched us back to aunt's house. Went for dinner. Then Alvin msged me and invited me to go orchard countdown. Haha. I think it is quite easy to find out if Alvin is high or not. Not gonna say how..Daddy was tired and didn't want to go. So mummy, auntie Rebecca, Bryan and I made our way down to orchard. So crowded. Even in the mrt station! Havoc man! Haha..almost like a chicken coop.. haha.. no lah..

Met Alvin at borders. but had to wait for moses to be found..moses keep on getting lost! Haha..like even on mrt.. also can get lost. Sarah, Maria and Ivan goh were there.

We were separated walking through the crowd. Haha. So many people!! And they kept on spraying foam and everything everywhere. Mummy didn't quite like it. She said she would enjoy orchard better if there were no spraying and all.There was a stage and a cordoned off area just in front of it. The entrance to the enclosed area was at the right side. We were at the top left side and there was no was to go by a shorter way. We had to squeeze all the way around the perimeter. Haha. Saw Alvin and Ivan goh inside. Then the countdown started. Haha. Still we squeezed all the way in! haha. And people were waiting to get in at about 7.30 already? Haha. All I can say is bryan is very good at moving through crowds.

Found them and then got hugged. Haha. Just a Christmas hug. Ok. It doesn't really mean anything. Just pure excitement, happiness and high-ness..
But you can guess who hugged me. With all the rumours going around..aiyo..

Joanne msged me all the way from shanghai!! Haha. But I couldn't reply her.. aiya! So bad.. I wanted to..man.. anyway, i love you sister!

Saw jj lin from less than 10 metres away?.. yup.. about 10 metres..his singing is ok. Just a little like.. erm.. i dunno.. unnatural? Haha..left halfway. Took mrt home. And then daddy fetched us from the mrt station nearby our house.

Msged a bit with Alvin then slept. Haha.

Today..

Went to grand aunt's house and gave them the goodies we got from korea. Then went to watch national treasure. I didn't really enjoy the movie. Too many gunshots and all. I had my fingers in my ears for the whole movie..my elbow joints ached after that. but the plot was good. Haha. Went for dinner at cafe de amigo.. daddy ordered beef and found it burnt. The restaurant owner was a bit angry with the staff. And he had no manners! Just "
Johnny, put down all those and come help me." Like hello? Where is the please and thank you? I think he scolded the chef. Poor thing. But he gave us another piece of meat. And a Christmas present. Plates! Haha. 4 plates. Nicely decorated ones. Still, that's no way to treat people..

Came home. Did the cards for amy and jon. I think it was super ugly. But I had no time! People said it was nice but..

Got ready for tomorrow's drama!! I m so excited! Haha.. good night!!

Went to heartland mall to get something for Amy. Haha..really cute.. but not gonna tell what.. it's a surprise! Haha.. ivan goh went along. Bought something then we all went home.. ivan goh.. take so long to choose 1 present.. haha..

Went for dinner..together with mummy's friends and family, to celebrate her birthday and her friend's too..same month..

The 3 kids we a little anti-social.. like..throughout the whole dinner. They kept on playing gameboys and even had to be fed by their parents. They were like sec 1 next year..p5 and p6 next year.. plus all so small sized. Bryan is 1 year older but he is like 1 head or 2 taller..haha.. ok.. the food was ok.. but the cake was not very nice. Alaska bomb. Egg white and ice cream cake inside.. haha..took a bit only..so fattening..

Went home. Did a Christmas card for daddy and mummy. Like so nice!! Of course. I designed it and made it. There's a Christmas tree and its made of glitter! Haha..purple and silver. Really nice.

Going to church later. yay!! I m by myself at home.. really bored. Don't feel like doing any homework..bleahx.

Drama- What's the big fuss over christmas??

Drama. After all the rehearsals, the big day finally came.

I am Daphne. The average teenage girly girl. I go shopping, like guys, likes to play, likes to hang out with friends, hates sheep, hates the dark, wears skirts..blah..

I hate skirts.
HATE.

11am. Went to church, met drama mates. Rehearsed a bit in the corridor cos nobody was in the office. We booked the sanctuary at 11 and work at the church office started at 1. So at about 1, we went into the sanctuary. Rehearsed more and then daddy drove the drama team to our home. New car!! SFP 3811 B. phew..the car stank of new leather..eeyuck..

Celebrated mummy's birthday at home with Angel, Winston. Michelle and Keith came later to just eat the cake. We slacked the whole time at my house. Winston, playing piano, michelle dunno doing what, angel playing with angel, keith SLEEPING..pig larh he..slept till we had to go back to church..haha.. blah blah.
Michelle told me to wear a skirt!! Man!!

I hate skirts.
HATE.

So far I have worn skirts only 4 times. Once for Sunday ushering. 3 times for drama.
See the sacrifice I am making for drama?? Plus the skirt was really short, and I had a humongous blueblack on a leg due to skiing..opps..hope i won't need to wear another one..

Went to church, changed into the costume. Rehearsed a little. Amy came and put makeup on us..i got the pretty innocent beautiful look. Yaysie! Angel got the Mary look and liz..got the omgness, dark, goth look..eee...but it would be quite fun putting on that kind of makeup..haha..i want to try one day..

Time for drama, I wasn't that nervous..just a bit. Compared to the loads I get the last times I did dramas..i think it was a success..people were laughing here and there..at the correct times and all..yup..i wasn't used to wearing skirts..i think my actions were a bit stiff..but should be ok lah. Didn't miss any lines..went smoothly..yaysie!!

During the break for tour, changed back into shorts and then played 2 station's games..
Find words in a puzzle and throwing candy canes that sort of stuff..then went back to touch up make up and get into character.

The other half went well too. Just the last sentence, when bryan forgot to pass the mike to angel gabbie..that's all.. Went to wash off make up and took some pictures..but the pictures still look like I have make up on..eyucky..

Played around a while more, took more pictures, then went home..wrote cards for tm people till 2..then slept. Ok..day ended..

Korea. Was super fun!

Day we landed in Korea. We panicked a while because our tour guide was late. Then when he arrived, he gave us almost 40 minutes to eat breakfast. We ate at Macs. The Korean macs is a bit different. Like they don't allow exchanges and of course, there was the language barrier was a problem. But thank God there were pictures, and number on them. So we just showed the cashiers the number with fingers and all.. I felt like we were in the midst of a country of super super rich people. Like $ 15,000 over for a meal. That kind of thing. Haha..$15,000 can get you a car in Singapore. Haha..

The bus was a few hours late. Hello? Few hours?? A few minutes should be ok..but hours?? Haha.. the bus ride was about 3 hours to yongpyong resort. The place where winter sonata was shot. We passed by a place to rent ski suits and gloves and all. The person helping out to distribute suits thought I was below 160 cm.. Like hello?? I am 160 cm and over ok..
The ski suits were super unflattering. Eee.. I hated it, but managed to make it more presentable. Like adjust here and there, fold here and there.. heheh.. Mummy kept on saying I was so vain. Hey, girls are vain what. And maybe I got it from the gene pool..heheh..ok lah. I won't be so bad..

We checked in the hotel and started skiing lessons straight away. Like hello?? Ever heard of the word REST?? We just landed a few hours ago!! Whatever lah..heheh..maybe it was quite ok after all.. skiing lessons were easy and the instructors were quite cute..heheh..their English was limited though. Aiya. I fall in love easily. And I hate it.

Made friends with 3 short, chubby, cute girls. Kept on asking questions. And they were very..very.. gungho. Haha..Super lah. Crystal, Kristin and Sarah.

Altogether, there was 1 and a half days of lessons. We even used the ski lift on the second day. I sat with crystal and the more shuai ski instructor. =P.

Skied down slopes. Fun man!! Like flying, except that you are still grounded. Haha. Angel, maybe you should learn skiing.. heheh..

Tried all the slopes except the almost vertical one. Haha.. that's for pros.. not for me..
At night, there were some performances. Traditional Korean drums and all.. so loud..but nice. The food was quite limited. Like they won't replenish after the food runs out. And there would be kimchi at every meal. Breakfast, lunch, dinner. Eee..can't they make non-spicy kimchi? I want to try what it taste like!! Oh yea.. there would be seaweed too..every meal. This bryan would always take 5 or more packets lah..greedy..Koreans use seaweed to eat rice.. like so unique..haha..i dun like the chopsticks..made of metal.put it in hot soup, put it in your mouth and burn your tongue.

Competition the 3rd day. Had to ski left right left right. I thought I couldn't do it. But I finished everything nicely!! Haha.. so fun!! Skied somemore, then dinner. I won 3rd place for skiing!! Yaysie!! And went up stage to represent our tour group , take certificate..blah..

There were a lot of games but I didn't participate..just watched.. laughed like crazy..
Daddy had to carry mummy and do so much stuff at the same time. Like wear stockings, take off shoe, take out stockings..aiya..rubbish lah..haha..had so so so much fun!

Last day of skiing. Went on the green slope for the 1st time,then went back to the yellow one..the green was a bit more steep. I went down a bit too fast and the slope looked scary..haha..bryan stayed on at the green.

Went back to the green one later but only with bryan in front. Still, I screamed part of the way down..haha..for fun..yea..for fun..no..i wasn't scared..really..

Spa hotel next..no shoes allowed, must wear swimming cap in the swimming pool..blah..
We had to run in the cold air to the swimming pool. Sarah, crystal and Kristin, kept on talking about my 2 piece. Whats wrong with 2 piece? Haha.. once we reached the indoor pool, we didn't feel like going back. Too cold!! Haha..brave mummy went to take bathrobes..yay..but in the end didn't need it, cos we went into the outdoor spa and it was super nice! Jump into the next, and the next. Soon, close enough to walk back to the female's only area. Everyone but me wanted to go for the spa there. The spa there is different. Very different. Won't elaborate any further.

Almost everyday, we had been eating ice cream. Haha.. I was so sure I was going to gain weight. But thanks to the spa, I think, I lost weight!! Haha.. 2 kg!! Haha..

Shopping the next few days were very fun! Aiya, everything in korea in super fun.
Now korea is ranked number 1, before Taiwan and uk, my ex number 1s..and japan, ex number 2.
bought like so many things lah.visited ginseng shop, bought Korean ginseng a big cardboard box full, which we packed into our luggage since we had been throwing away the clothes we wore..

dong chong xia cao shop, another Korean product not allowed to be exported, together with the ginseng and the amethyst.
Visited amethyst factory. Mummy bought a amethyst ring..like hello? So expensive!! But mummy bargained till she had it for less than 50%..haha..that's my mummy. The best bargainer.

Last 2 days, went shopping for souvenirs.. bought magnets, very very nice bookmarks, pens, clothes, bags, blah.

Once again, mummy bargained everything to less than 50%.
My bag, was about 58000 won. Bryan also bought a 30000 won bag. Altogether 88000 won I think. Mummy bargained it to 30000 won I think.. haha.. less than the price of my bag alone..

Last day, shopped for tidbits. I took a basket by myself and put all the stuff I wanted. I didn't even see the price..haha..poor daddy.. everything totaled to 100000 plus..heheh..
Mummy bought packets after packets of seaweed..just 5 packets took up a basket. So we had 3 baskets.Daddy bought a pillow..haha..pillow!!

We went to korea with 3 luggages, came back with 3 luggages plus 3 more boxes full of food and a extra carrier..

Coming back to Singapore, our seats were separated on the plane. Me was by myself with some stranger. Lucky mummy swopped seats..heheh..if not I might have sat with some old man..haha..eee..scary..haha..ok..don't judge a book by its cover..yes.. I know..

Back in Singapore, waited for the luggage. It took about a hour..mad..
took cab back. Unpacked a bit, slept.that's my trip to korea.
Super super fun. Only the weather was bad. No snow, not cold, still have to wear thick jacket not needed. Hope to go back to korea again. Someday.

camp everyday

Yaysie! Came back from camp and I am feeling the spiritual high I heard people talk about. Heheh. I am so excited to type it all down. Where should I start? Of course the 1st day lah. So here goes. Haha.hope you all can read till the end because this entry is going to be a long one.

1st day: daddy dropped me and Bryan off at yio chukang mrt station. We went in and saw only a few timmies. So disappointed. Walked across the street to Presbyterian high school. Our campus for the year's tm camp. My fila roller bag went crazy on the way! Like the wheels were stuck and could not be rolled. So I had to carry it lah.sarah Wong had to help me and I really thank you Sarah. If not for you, I think I wouldn't have managed across the street.

Registered for the camp and found out that our bunks and the seminar room were on the 4th floor!! Wah.want to make me die..haha.plus my spoiled fila bag.argh!! Luckily for me. Ian came to the rescue. Nice Ian offered to help me carry my bag up.haha.yay!! Save me from all the trouble.aiya. But guys were made to help girls what.haha.still.thank you so much Ian.

Angel, Jeanne, Christina teo, Penelope, Cheryl Wong, Jamie, Alvin, Eliel, Joshua, Moses, Ashley, Yujin, Seth, Malcolm, Benjamin. All these people were in burger king. The leaders were Amy tan and shufen but Jonathan lead when Amy couldn't. Yay! Burger king rocked!

The first day games were alright. We had to stand in a line and like do things to the person behind. Like brush their teeth, feed them jelly, tie their hair and paste stickers or something and so on. The girls had to put on hair gel and guys, tied hair with stickers. Stupid lah.my hair kana gel. The leaders forced us to stand boy girl boy girl. Like why? I was stuck in between eliel and Joshua.
The next game was to like ' decorate' the leader. Amy was tied to this chair and we had gel, toilet paper, hairpins, lipstick and so on. But when it came to my turn to decorate Amy, the game was ended. Eee.i had like no chance. Aiya.

Sermon that night was very different. Mike was our speaker from New Zealand. He was there with his wife Donna. Wowsa! This man is really a man of God and he could like prophesize. The sermon was very easy to understand. Normally in camps the altar call would be on the 2nd or 3rd night. But he called for response on the 1st night. I responded but cried little. I wanted to cry more but aiya.

The beds were just mats and our own sleeping bags on top. Better than nothing lah. The weather was so cold I woke up a few times to cover myself with a t-shirt. Like pathetic.

2nd day: sermon in the morning, devotion. I heard God telling me to be bold and be strong but I didn't know what he meant. So Amy told me to wait. It was the first time hearing from God and I almost didn't believe it.
Mike talked about holistic and dualistic views. The message was a little difficult to comprehend but aiya. Still can lah. Learnt quite a bit from mike.
The games were station by station. We had to carry people through raffia strings, together balance a cup of water on a flimsy tablecloth, pass chairs to the front of a row of chairs so that we could move the whole line forward. This game mike just stepped up with us on the chairs halfway through the game and started playing with us. Like haha. Extra points.
Our team got full marks for all these and had extra time to rest cos' we finished fast. Heheh.

Crawl in soil and them in rotten stuff to get 60 seconds and try save 2 people. This one only Seth and Alvin went through. They saved the leaders already what..
Slide on soapy benches then put your head in tomato sauce to find a mentos. We had to do this twice but I found a way to keep clean. Heheh.
Spin around a pole, run pass chairs to 2 station and find mentos in both stations. I missed this one. We ran out of time but already had enough people to get full points. So far, we aced everything. all full points.yay!

Pass water bombs using plastic sheets. Aced.
Pass water with broken cups to reach the marking. Aced.
Write kia ora using toes and then burst water bombs with our bodies. Aced and not wet.
( kia ora is hello in New Zealand language.)

Transfer water with broken cups, now must run over the legs of the rest of the members. Aced.
Spell 40 characters using our bodies in kneeling position. Aced.
Do jigsaw while half the team do exercise. Didn't finish. No time. But still, got some points.

Overall, we got second. Lost to long johns by 1 mark. We got 312 points. Yay!

Sermon that night. I can never forget. We were asked to respond but I didn't feel anything. So I didn't respond and move to the front. I prayed and ask for the Holy Spirit to fill me. Amy Teo prayed me for in tongues. I cried a little but then stopped. So I prayed again to ask for more. Then Maria came to pray for me. I suddenly felt weak and could not stand. So a few people helped me down on the ground.

I started to shiver. They put some jackets over me. Then I shivered even more and like could not control myself. Quite scary. Like my brain is not in charge. Haha. It was more of like sudden stiffness of my body and like must stretch all the muscles in my body at the same time and like have to curl up and stand up at the same time. Plus I couldn't open my eyes or speak at all. No voice. Just a big mess. Haha. I shivered then suddenly stop, then start again. Quite frightening but cool at the same time. Haha.

A lot of people came to pray for me. Amy Tan prayed about the words ' be bold and be strong' that morning. I remembered and started crying. Like a lot of people were surrounding me and all. At that time, God told me He wanted to use me to be a blessing to others and to be the person who draws people closer to God. I don't really know how. Maybe by seeing me, pray for me and strengthen relationship with God or something lah.

Anyway, Amy said I was shivering for past an hour. Haha. I remember being lifted or something by Jonathan I think. Amy asked him to so that she could pray for me I think.. Not very sure. Anyway, Grace was with me too..

When I woke up, I was still weak but able to see. Everyone was like praising God so I joined in. What an experience man. Super cool.Super. I don't mind missing the night game apparently very fun. Haha.

3rd day: Devotion, Amy was like telling the whole cg what happened and all. She even said it was spasm or something lah. Haha.
Angel was like speaking tongues last night, a lot responded. Jeanne was super cool with her praying.. Blah blah.

Sermon on what I can't really remember, I lost my camp booklet!! Argh!! And I have so many notes inside!! Argh!!

That day played the vicinity code. Like hello, ask me to play that kind of game.. No transportation. Everything by foot. Wah.. Going to the first station already made my feet ache and sore. Alvin offered to carry me quite a few times but aiya. Still can walk lah. And I will be wasting his energy what. So I refused.

The games were rather crazy. Fix jigsaw puzzles, walk round a playground 3 times with hoops and 5 people stuck in the hoop, step on newspapers to cross a bridge and stuff.. we lost our way a few times, had to wait for help and all. Then on the way to one of the stations, we had to climb this really big hill. Elizabeth lee and peiyun's station was on a hill!! Stupid place lah! And I was very very tired already. Alvin offered to carry me again. Now I agreed. Once he carried me he brought me all the way up lah!! Like woh!! And he was running! Shufen was behind asking him to put me down because it was on the road and if he or me fell, it would be a long way down. Haha. But no problem lah..Thank you Alvin. I will be grateful. Haha..Oh yea. And can I make it clear to everyone, including the drama team, that Alvin only carried me up a hill, not married me. So please stop teasing me and Bryan, stop saying you want him as a brother-in-law when you are about to sleep. Don't sacrifice me for yourself. That's selfish. Oh yea, since I am at this, I also do not like tsura. It's just that I don't know him at all and so thus what happened during drama practice. Yes! I finally had my chance to tell the whole world about me! Yaysie! Haha. Ok, back to camp..

The game ended very late but we still didn't finish all the station. We didn't win anything either.we had a very nice dinner!!! Spaghetti and fish and chicken.. woah!! Almost heavenly! Haha.. all the other meals were quite horrible. I didn't even finish half my food. Lucky for me, I had the Alvin and eliel sitting in front of me, and the ever hungry ns guys sitting the next table. Heheh. All the chicken wings, chicken drumsticks, fish, rice, some veg, all went to them. Hahaha..There were games and all during dinner. I went up to do the hula hoop. But how would I know it would be so tiny and light. Eee..ask me to do normal ones I can do for hours, but that was like. What the. And we had to balance a cup of water on our heads..

There was a short sermon at night, then we all had an exercise. Like in our cg, a person would be in the middle and we all would just wait for God to tell us something about this person. I was told to smile and be a blessing and all!! Like woah!! Seth had a laughing fit then and we ended really late. Angel had a headache and so didn't join the activity. She was like at a corner. Poor thing.

After the activity, I went to join Angel. She was like lying down on Jon. We accompanied them for a while then me and Jeanne went down for supper. Biscuits.

Woke up at 8. Super groggy. Breakfast pack up. Testimony. I shared what happened to me on the second night. Angel almost shared lah. But she didn't. Nicole went to take her place. That's about all..helped to bring camp things down to the coaches. why did the camp committee buy so much toilet paper? jeanne and i helped to carry down like almost 4 packets with 10 rolls inside each..i was thinking about my poor fila bag gonna be pushed down the steps to level 1 by me when nice ian came and asked if i needed him to carry my bag down again. heheh..guess if i took on his offer..heheh.. took the coach back to church, helped them unload and pack up, then went for lunch with angel, her 2 brothers, j kwok, bryan and zech. Mummy and daddy then brought us home from Singapore post center. Went home, bathe, sleep.
